Walking on east into town along Huron, we come to Ann Arbor School of Yoga's lovely garden.
We appreciate their iris. So fresh and I can't help but think spring-ish, in front of dead peonies...........
And their sweet alyssum. I "always" have this in my window boxes, but neglected to see to it, this year. I missed it..........
Huron is the main drag if you are going west out of downtown. This pic is more "journalistic" than "artistic" -- I wanted to show you the sky....
Not that journalistic pics can't be plenty artistic, but I think of journalistic pics as concentrating on "showing it the way it was" where artistic ones are all about the image, and anything to get a more striking/intriguing/interesting image goes.
Looking west on Huron from the intersection of irst, oh, wait, that would be *First*.....
Turning 90 degrees left, looking south on irst, I mean First. Look how different the sky is, in the south, compared to the west.....
Note also our favorite parking lot at left edge (bounded by Huron, First, Washington, Ashley).
Parking lot salvia, zinnias, petunias.
This next section is subtitled Messages from the Universe, or, Just Take the Pic!!!!!
October 1 was a breezy day, and the wind seems to funnel down Huron and increase in volume and strength at the top of this hill.
The parking lot plants were blowing all around. I thought seriously of putting the camera away.
But -- it's digital, what can you lose? A few minutes? Take the Pic..........
This next set of pics are all SooC (straight out of camera). I don't remember ANY set of this many pics in a row without even cropping. Ever.
Not only not blurry, but reasonably interesting, SooC.......
Just Take the Pic(s!)............
Castor beans. Seriously blowing in the wind.
I had no idea if the castor beans came out at all. I can see how things are blocked out, on the camera view screen, and I can see if they are totally blurry, but if they are only sorta blurry, I have no clue until I get them on the "big screen."
(Ok, I *have* reading glasses in my backpack, but stop and put them on to take pics? Not. Just keep snapping, and if they are all blurry, sigh philosophically and try again the next time I go by...........)
I figured I'd better take a pic of this nice rock, as it wouldn't be waving in the wind. This grass has cool seeds. Note curly leaf and seeds showing up nicely, lower right.
More castor beans, at the other end of the block. I can be very persistent.....
Salvia and zinnias, also at the northeast corner of the block.
I have no idea what this excellent yellow stuff is.
Every non-square pic in this post since the iris at the top has been SooC.
This fancy version of a coneflower is the first pic I edited since we left the Ann Arbor School of Yoga.
I *know* I've never had so many in a row that I didn't even crop.......
This one, cropped. Don't miss the buds on the right.....
