Wow.
Yellow and orange; nice. With that greeny blue behind?
Wow.
Fancy pumpkin. Really Orange.
Black walnuts. I think you have to have the right genes to enjoy these. I love most nuts, but can't stand coconut (it's a visceral reaction; I'm sure it's genetic. My DH and kid both feel the same way), and I don't like black walnuts (but they don't make me gag the way coconut does).
My mom loves these, as did her mother before her. Aren't they cool looking? And nice with the turquoise........
Hot peppers.
More hot peppers.
I think these are sweet rather than hot. Love the chocolatey purple......
Yowza! This is SooC (straight out of the camera; no postprocessed enhancement of color).
No wonder so many flags have red and blue!
And now for a "my goodness" of another sort. Talk about your warted ... whatchamacallit........ I wonder if this is a pumpkin...... It was decorating a stand which was selling bread.
Bread, same stand as above.
More peppers.
Yet more peppers.

In West Virginia, they have devised a way to shell black walnuts...a trough the width of a pickup tire, about 8 feet long.
Drive your truck tire through the trough to dislodge the shells.
Just add nuts...
in the trough, not the truck.
Oh, OK.
Both.

I wrote a lengthy and hilarious response last night, and attempted to publish it just as blogger went down for a scheduled outage.
I hate when that happens.
I have been trying to do better listening to the little voice that says "it's a long post; better save it," but clearly I have a LONG way to go..........
I want to know why that voice is a shadow of a whisper, while the one that says "you can eat another one" and "you don't have to work out today" is loud and clear!
Wish I could stick a sock in that one, and buy a police whistle for the good one!
