market, October 4

.

Farmers' market.

The big ones are pumpkins, but I bet the little ones are gourds..... (Pumpkins edible, gourds, not.)

Kale.

I want to be the person who puts together the bouquets........

The nested spirals of petals. The chartreuse. The snips of yellow and magenta, with the magenta in the background. Mmmmmm.

Leetle squashes, illustrating the concept of negative/positive space.

I decide I'm going to make a point of looking for closeups.

Tomatillos. Appreciate the purple........

Dahlia. The petals in the lower left corner make me think of veils, translucent pink, with darker edges.......

Ok, everything good isn't closeup. Someone took the trouble to arrange these in a checkerboard.......

These look like maybe they've been waxed........

Purple and green. Oh my.

Decorative corn.

It won't hold this translucent bursting-with-moisture look. It will dry, and shrivel, and become opaque. But isn't it gorgeous now..........

Onyons. Note shadow, and light coming through the plastic box....... In addition to the excellent color of the onyons.....

They've been getting after people for selling stuff that isn't local. These look awfully ... floristy ... to me. Pretty, but not home grown......

Watermelons, again with the positive/negative space.

Brown eggs cost more than white ones.
