on the way to work, October 21

.

To spare my poor plantar-fasciitis-stricken right foot, I took the bus to work on the 21st.

I made a stop at the library to pick up the books on hold. Goodness. That 1000 Paintings to See Before You Die book is enormous (and heavy).

When you get most of your books by putting them on hold online (sight unseen), there are often surprises of this sort. "Wow, who knew that each of these three books weighs four pounds!" It can be a problem if you're on your way home on foot!

Right in front of the library -- hold the phone (as Shrek might say) -- what's up with this?

*This* is what all the other bradford pears look like.

This poor tree is definitely confused. Not just the one twig; the whole tree..... Hope this doesn't bode ill for its health and longevity.

Walking on. Locust.

Maple and locust. I am enjoying the leaves that have multiple colors.....

Dunno what kind of leaf this is.

Lichens and stuff on a big piece of bark.

In my office. Here's what this lovely Taiwanese Mountain Tea looks like when the leaves are fully unfurled.
