Cinereous vulture.
I have put up two versions of the same pic to show something I like about the poster-edges filter. For some images it really can help the pic seem sharper. Look at its beak and feathers, as well as the twigs. I really like the poster-edged version better. (Applying a filter is as simple as choosing a filter from the list and clicking on it......)
More 'tocks........
Mama Renee and five-year-old Louie came in from outdoors while we watched. Their indoor area had just been enriched...........
Everybody loves pumpkins!
Another pair of "original" and "poster-edged" images.
In addition to the pumpkins and branches, there were other food-based enrichments. There was a plastic barrel just outside the enclosure, with a trunk-sized hole. It clearly had popcorn in it, mixed with hay, I believe.
We saw Renee exploring it and bringing up some hay and popcorn.
In addition, there were rope nets suspended over the area. Renee reached in through the rope net, checking to see what goodies might be mixed in with that hay.
So good, that these efforts are made to keep life a bit more interesting......
Everybody knows these media stars.
Meerkats take sentry duty verrrry seriously.
Excellent seeds on this grass.
"White lions" from Siegfried and Roy. These were amongst the very hardest critters to photograph. The plexi was scratched (gee, wonder why?), and there is always the glare.... This was the best I could do.
The shape of his face reminds me so much of the original Cowardly Lion drawings in the old Wizard of Oz books..........
