Nov. 20 -- redbud

This is what the red-leafed redbud leaves looked like in the summer (and these still looked like this on the 20th). In addition to being red, they are a lot bigger than typical redbud leaves.





Most of them look different, after they have fallen.





Yes, really, all these colors are from the one sort of tree.





Not sure if I like this crop better than the one above? Do you?





I confess, this one is poster edged.







For a change of pace, we'll look at a hydrangea leaf. I like the very heavy veining, but not the color. Or should I say "lack of color." This is the original image.





Here I used the "levels" black slider, which intensifies color as well as making the dark places more intense.





Here I adjusted the color (a lot more saturation) and then poster edged. The last two are less "journalistic" but more interesting, I think.





If at first you don't succeed.......

Here's that barberry again, same exact twig we looked at a few days ago. I like this better than the image I got before.........





The sun tried to come out, with minimal success. Later in the day it was just plain cloudy. And windy.





Here we are in my office. That one tree on the horizon is really a lot taller than anything near it.
