The little guy was just below our bedroom window.
I'm not that fond of these enormous burning bushes, but clearly they are important to him.....

I think he's waiting for breakfast, Vicki.
Naw, he was helping himself to the berries on the bush. :-) That's what he's doing in that leaning down pic; grabbing a berry.
A few of my other pics show the leftovers coating his beak....
:-)
What a beautiful fluffy cardinal. I sure wish we had them here in the Pacific NW!
I was standing on the bed, sorta leaning on my husband (who was sitting on the bed, and who called me to bring a camera), taking pics down through the window.
I am very pleased that most of them are so sharp.
The cardinals are beautiful, against the green of summer, and especially now when nothing else in the winter landscape is brighter!
I miss cardinals :( As Wrensong farn said, we just don't HAVE them here in the NW!
I also only rarely see Goldfinches here, but we DO have them here! Michigan has some really beautiful birds :)
I think of the gorgeous birds being in the tropics, but you are right. We have some beauties. The cardinals, the blue jays, the goldfinches. I don't remember ever seeing a goldfinch (or a crow, for that matter!) growing up (right here in A2), but last summer I saw goldfinches downtown on multiple occasions.
When the leaves go, one can see that some of the trees have very small nests. I wondered whose, and having seen so many goldfinches, I am now wondering if they are the builders of those nests....
