one week ago....

.

Four weeks ago we were in Nassau.

Two weeks ago, we were in Charlotte.

One week ago, we were getting ready to head over to the house of one of the couples on the Bahamas trip, for dinner and hot-tubbing.

There was a winter storm warning. When we talked to our daughter on Saturday afternoon, she heard about our weather and said "Extreme hot-tubbing?"

We were more concerned about the hour's drive back and forth.

As it turned out, the storm had just passed us when it was time to go.

The roads were wet and slushy, but not too slippery.

Of course we were going east, following the storm.

I wondered if we would catch it.

But no.

Another storm, or a branch of that one, did come through, later, when I was in the hot tub. Cold snow blowing hard in your face is not really all that pleasant, even in a hot tub. Especially when "hot" isn't really *hot*..... It was set to its max, but it couldn't keep up with the wind and the snow. It was ok, but not toasty, the way you'd hope when it was that cold outside.

So I guess maybe it was extreme after all. Getting from the house to the tub, over the slippery deck and stairs was sort of extreme.............. I'd never been almost bare, sopping wet, outdoors, when the wind chill is around 10F, and, well, if I never am again, that is probably ok. Even if it's on purpose, on the way in from the hot tub.

This week my honey is off playing bridge, but I am boringly staying home and enjoying the sunshine.
