The 4th was a pretty nice day. I walked home with no gloves on (but I did have my winter coat on over a long-sleeved shirt).
Snow, plowed to one side, in the post office parking lot.
Tight crop of above -- I wanted to showcase the spiky bits. So interesting that it doesn't just melt straight into a blob......
Old bricks. Erosion bringing to light things that had been hidden inside.....
We have looked at this building a lot of times, as I love the round window (and the arches) and the chimney.
I presume this is a B&B. I like the name, and of course love the orange door.
And the lights around the porch roof.
Don't miss the orange porch furniture and the stained glass in the windows.
This place is two blocks from downtown and has a big parking lot. Try it out when you visit A2, and report back, won't you?
Up the block a few houses. Serious vineage.
I mentioned the other day that the macro-focus setting has a short depth of field, and that if it should happen to focus on what you want it to focus on, you can get an interesting pic.
This is what happens when it focuses on the background instead of the spiraling leaf in front.
Yawn.
I hardly ever miss my old film camera, but with the Pentax *I* was in charge of focusing and could choose this sort of thing myself, rather than taking a bunch of shots and hoping the camera makes the decision I want at least once (and gets it sharp in the same image!). (I know that one can get that functionality in a digital camera, but I am unwilling to spend that much on a camera. Nor do I want one that big and heavy........)
Here it focused on what I had in mind, but I'm not sure how much I like this anyway.
Too busy.....
The only strong color in the landscape (aside from sky blue) is humans and their stuff.
This house is being built right beside our usual view into West Park from its west end.
The prev immediately to the right of this view.
Someone on my street has painted their door this excellent color, and has this interesting feathery wreath.
Here's another neighborhood red car. This one is a couple of houses away from the rest, and hasn't heretofore appeared in my red-car pics.
