The Hyatt is what I call "a fancy hotel with no amenities." You know the kind -- impressive architecture, marble bathrooms, and no microwave, fridge, or free internet.......
Our room was in one of the cylinders at the corners of the hollow cube that forms the main part of the hotel. Last year I took a lot of pics of the hotel, and I wondered what was in the cylinders. Pie-shaped hotel rooms, is what.
Very nice, eh? Nice high ceilings, nice restful monochromatic color scheme....
It really was a nice room, aside from the ridiculously small shower (and the aforementioned lack of amenities).............
They even had couple of touches of orange, including this silly cylindrical pillow thing, which spent our entire stay on the floor..........
Marble, shelf over sink in bathroom. Nice, no?
Reflections and shadows.
Desk lamp, with my glass mug. (I travel with a hot pot and a glass mug and a baggie of tea bags.)
This room, oddly, did not have anything resembling a comfy chair.
One evening I wanted to sit near the window, so here I am, sitting cross-legged on the floor, doing just that. I have one of the books my friend bought, and a travel-mug souvenir of the 2006 Chicago bridge tournament.
Here's what was happening outside the window.
