The University is serious about wanting people to take good care of their health.
This year they escalated by offering staff members $100 to go have a health screening. They measured height and weight (and abdominal circumference), blood pressure, and took three drops of blood for cholesterol screening.
(We all wondered, if they'll give $100 for three drops of blood, how much they'd give for a pint, but no one seemed to know the answer.....)
On the 23rd I wandered over to the Union to earn my $100.
The stairwell in the northeast corner has been decorated to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Union.
There are flower beds along the north side of the Union. They are warmed by exhaust from the food court inside.
Columbine.
Dunno what this is, but I love the color.
I'm guessing this is ivy. It's clearly deciduous. I love the scars which I bet are from last year's leaves.
The Cube, which spins if you give it a shove.
A good reason to walk to work.
The Institute for Social Research, for which I work (but not in this building any more).
I've never really understood why one of these instead of a bicycle. And I really don't understand painting a target on your back.........
Sycamore in the bright sun.
Walking home now.
Daffodil, backlit.
I don't think frontlit is a word. Liking the pinky stuff in the background.
Wow, we've gone from nothing to everything in just a few days.
Crabapple.
Pansies.
Species tulips.
New house, practically in West Park, progressing.
