West Park, still all torn up. I think they are working on a walkway. There didn't used to be a paved one here.
Daylilies.
Black-eyed Susans.
Echinops. I would have thought the camera would like this, but it found it difficult. Not one of the several shots I took was sharp. I have messed with this one, trying to find some edges.....
See the bee, underneath?
Amazingly tall Asiatic lilies. These were at least seven feet tall. Maybe more.
Crocosmia.
Liking the pattern repetition.....
Nothing else is quite this color, just now.
Daylily.
Monarda -- bee balm.
Lots going on here!
Look at the stuff coming out the tips of the ... petals?
And -- we've seen that middle stuff before, dried, in winter! Now I know who it belonged to!
Phlox.
This is a mystery to me. Anyone?
Black-eyed Susans.

I don't know what your "unknown" is... but isn't that allium with the echinops? That's another one I love and haven't grown yet... :)
The purple is the echinops, the pink is the echinacea. :-)
Aliums also have that spherical flower cluster, and in about that color. Around here, they are all done by May-ish.
I wonder if echinops are related to thistles, or if it is parallel evolution. Their leaves are very similar, though the flowers are not like thistles.....
I tried for the echinops again this week, and this time every shot was clear.
Go figure.
More echinops (again with bees, I think this is a pattern :-) ) will appear soon. Ish. :-)
Oh! Thank you for the lesson. :) I love that I learned something new today! :) :) :)
You are welcome. I'm glad you weren't offended. :-) :-) :-)
