July 14, morning

.

Viburnum.

Burton Tower. That small rounded roof must be part of the League.

Yarrow.

Yarrow up close -- who knew?

Tower, with Hill Auditorium on left, and yarrow below.

Hill Aud; details.

Art Fair poster, with east side of Tower Plaza. Art fair is the 21st through the 24th this year.

Fountain, between the Union and the Literature, Science, and the Arts building.

Sweet potato vine, ditto.

Because we can, enhance/hue-saturation/push the hue slider.

The camera sees so much color in these leaves!

Push the hue slider somewhere else.....

Moving right along.

Daylilies, arm in arm.

Daylily, with what looks like tulle ruffles.

A little chartreuse tutu......

Dusty miller, blooming.

I'm so impressed with your yarrow photos. Beautiful! I've been trying to get a picture of our yarrow for several weeks now and they keep turning out as one big blob. I love the detail you captured in your photo - well done!

I'd love to take credit :-) but it's all the camera.

I just set my little old Panasonic (dmc-lz3) on its macro setting, get RIGHT in the face of whatever I'm shooting (less than 3", probably), and try to hold still. :-)

(and always take at least three shots of everything, to give it a few tries at a clear focus)

Then I zoomed in in Photoshop Elements, saw the teeeeeny flowers, and cropped it tight.

I seriously love this camera. I've had it for a bit over three years, and we have taken tens of thousands of pics together. I take it everywhere.

Need to get it a new fanny pack (or belly bag, as my brother calls it, which is more true to the way I wear it....). I got this nylon one at Target well before I had the camera (back in the day when cell phones wouldn't really fit in your pocket!). The bag has the rusty look black things get when they've seen a lot of sun..... It's the perfect size, though. Everything else I've seen seems either too big or too flat or something............

:-)

Thanks. I am so grateful to all the gardeners who plant and care for all of these flowers. Glad that I can enjoy them, myself, and glad that I can share them......
