September 4 -- the rest of the day in Paris

We eventually squeezed our way through the demonstrators to the other side of the street, and continued on our way.

Very fancy car, which has just delivered a bride to her wedding.

We could hear singing from inside the church.

Silently wishing them the good luck that every couple needs as they face life together, while we enjoy the singing.

La Rue des Rosiers ("street of the rose bushes") -- one of my daughter's favorite streets.

The painted window says "Eccentric" and the green gnomes agree.

This is an arty section of town, with lots of galleries.  I liked this.....

We'd hoped to eat in a favorite place from 2008, but it was closed, on a Saturday night.

We found a deli that was open, and enjoyed roasted vegetables, artichoke hearts, and a beigel (which was looked something like a bagel one might find in the USA, only bigger) in this park.  (all the benches were occupied!)

Having enjoyed supper and a bit of a rest, we walked on.

I'm not sure you can tell, but there was a serious traffic jam, as people who had come for the demonstration tried to leave.  This street is parked solid on both sides, and the traffic is backed up, up the middle of the street, as far as the eye could see.

We were glad to be on foot!

We tried for dessert in another favorite place from 2008, but it was mobbed, so we landed here, and enjoyed this very nice flan.
