Yesterday I went to the Louisville Zoo.
I think that may be the first time I've ever driven, all by myself, to a zoo.
I've visited the National Zoo in Washington by myself, but I got there on the subway....
I looked it all up online, and had some idea which streets downtown are one-way. The whole thing went easy as pie. I took the wrong side of a fork, once, and realized it right away and corrected. And I even got another excellent parking space in the hotel structure when I got back.
It was good for me to go, even though I felt a bit apprehensive about the commute!
I is a nice zoo. They are trying hard to give the animals enough space, and enough to do.....
One time when we were visiting the Toledo Zoo, I felt bad that the gorillas were clearly so bored. Shortly thereafter, I saw on tv something about how many gorillas are killed by humans each year, and I decided there were many worse things than boredom......
Like Toledo, Louisville has taken care with its plants as well as its animals. Trees and shrubs are labeled, for the most part. There are LOTS of lovely daffodils blooming, at present, and the roses are beginning to leaf out.
I took lots of pics of animals (and some of flowers), and I will share with you when I get home.
I think today I wll go to the art museum -- another drive. I will check the weather and pick the wettest remaining day for the art museum.......
In order to facilitate reading the Louisville posts in chronological order, I have put a link at the end of each post to the next one. The post after this one is here.

Can't wait to see your pictures when you get home.
THanks!
I hope I got some good ones. I didn't do any triage while we were there (a big change from France, where I felt I needed to be diligent about it, to make sure I had enough space on the chips I'd taken with me!).
