May 7

.

Saturday errands. Tulip, on the way to the farmers' market.

Farmers' market.

Ranunculus in the foreground, hanging baskets in the middle ground, and bradford pear in the back.

On the way back to the car.

A different white tulip.

Grape hyacinth

Dandelion.

On the way to the library.

Oops.

At the grocery.

Are s'mores an American thing?

You toast a marshmallow to golden brown over hot coals, then sandwich it, with some chocolate, between squares of graham cracker.  If you do a slow toast on your marshmallow, its molten insides are hot enough to melt the chocolate.  Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....................

Note someone's creative fake fire, top right.

These jumbo marshmallows are a hoot. Look how big they are, in comparison to the graham cracker box.

But -- seriously? How on earth would you toast one of those enormous things slowly enough to melt the insides without incinerating the outside?  My better half suggests the microwave...............  And then, perhaps, you use a torch to make the outside of the melted mess golden brown?  Not to mention a jumbo is way too big for an ordinary graham cracker.....  I suppose if you did it in the microwave, on a full-length graham cracker, and then spread it from end to end........  Nah, still too much marshmallow.  Imh.

I'll be old-fashioned and stick to a regular marshmallow.
