July 22

.

I knew it wasn't going to be long before the babies left the nest, so I attempted pics pretty much every time I walked out the door.  One is a true profile, behind the other, who is pointed more in our direction.

Chicory, near the intersection of Ann and Division.

Remember my mention of the venerable lilacs, on the 20th?  Here's a closer look at one of them.  They've been here a long time!

Student ghetto house.  Not a color I'd put on a house in this climate (looks more tropical, I think).  Interesting details -- the window; the porch trim.

This would be when I looked for my orange and green ceramic face at the art fair.

The sun was out on the 22nd, unlike the 20th, and it was hot.  I decided to just walk on toward work rather than dawdling and lingering at the art fair.

Hydrangeas, by either the chem building or the natural sciences building, I can't remember which.

I quite like these signs.  They are attractive and informative.  "We are here," at the corner of State and North University.  North is pretty much the upper right corner.  North Quad, which we walked through on the 20th, is just up State Street a block.

All that blue stuff in the upper right is the medical campus.  The hospital, on which the falcons nested, is over there.

Hats, in the Ann Arbor FiberArts Guild space.

Love this.  See how the ruffly stuff is transparent?

I have tried to identify the next artist's name while writing this post, without success.   I've got maps with broad outlines of booth numbers; I've got lists of artists working in different media, but.......  My mind is kinda blown that anyone trying to sell anything to the random public doesn't have a web presence.  Really?  I mean ... really?

They needn't sell from the website, but they should have some pics of work they are actually still making, along with contact info.  So that when I google "Artist Name" and their medium, I get right to them, and can contact them if I decide I really need their table.  Or whatever.  I think it's really weird that I can't for so many.  Ah well.

Love the shape(s) of this gigantic vessel.  Love the contrast between the wood-colored bits and the black ones.

Couldn't identify (after the fact, again) the maker of this gorgeous table, either.

From a distance, I thought it was slate, but it's metal.  I love all the different colors/textures, and love the contrast of the very dark smooth squares.  Very nice.

More of the University's plants.  Daylilies, behind the Literature, Science, and the Arts building.

Love the back-lighting.

Golden rain tree, right over the daylilies.

Almost at work, now.....

It's almost always hot, during Art Fair (which is starts on the third Wednesday of July), and it almost always storms at least once.  Here it comes...........

Incipient storm, seen from my office window.

Raining right down, but not blowing very much.

It was verrrry humid when I walked home.

When I got home, only one baby was in the nest.
