.
A humid and cloudy Saturday morning.
Farmers' market, first thing in the morning. These little plums reminded us of the mirabelle plums we enjoyed in France last summer, only these are a lot bigger and more red. The mirabelles were really about cherry-size. These are about twice the diameter of a cherry. Still small for a plum, but not nearly as small. Mirabelles are freestone, too, and these are not.
I inquired; these are "Early Golden."
They turned out to be lovely. I'm so glad I got them.
It rained as we left the market, but not very hard, and not for very long.
When we got home, I noticed this baby robin in the back yard. I don't know if it's one of "our" babies, but it seems likely.
Cropped, only. (Taken through a not-so-clean window, and that window's screen.)
Pleased at the result of duplicating the layer, and using the "multiply" blending mode.
I took a whole bunch of pics, and this was, by far, the best of a sorry lot. The baby spent a bunch of time preening. Gotta comb all of those brand-new feathers into shape!
It stayed right there, in that position, on that branch, for a long time. I saw a parent feed it once.
Good luck, little one. You're gonna need it.
Yummy little plum. On my screen, this pic is about twice the size of the actual plum.
Dog, napping in his preferred habitat (on the cowshe, with pillows).
Awwww.
Walking said dog, after a second bunch of rain.
Datura.
This is looking down into a datura bud. Not as sharp as one might wish, alas.
