On the 13th, my better half played more bridge. I walked downtown again, this time walking on Murray Avenue (grand name for a cute and not-grand street).
Dogwood leaves. Wow, eh?
I took a bunch of pics of this aster, and each time the camera focused itself on something different.
Asters, old and new.
Curly petals, and very interesting ... um ... green part the flower comes out of.
Closeup of purple phase of flower.
Remember that upside-down-hearts flowery stuff we looked at last week? I am thinking this aster also may have male and female flowers on the same plant, and am wondering if that's why some of the flowers are yellow and some are purple/fuchsia..... Note the out-of-focus group at the bottom, that is mostly purple/fuchsia, but has one yellow part.....
Bindweed (a renegade morning-glory relative, I believe), on aster.
More dogwood.
Honeysuckle. Wish I could preserve and share the scent as easily as the sight.....
I think the newer flowers are white, and the older ones yellow....
Sunflower!
Looking straight up into a crab apple tree.
Cosmos.
Sedum "Autumn Joy."
