October 4

.

Office vignette. I particularly like the dino's tail and its shadow.

Zinnia.

Enjoying all the complication in the center.

At the feet of the zinnias; sweet alyssum.  I wish I could preserve the honey scent as easily as I preserve the sight of its white and green....

I have no idea if this is some sort of fancy grass, or "just a weed."  It makes a lot of seeds, in fancy patterns, on an attractively-curved seed head.

Here's what the whole clump looks like.

Rose hips.

Close crops of my favorite parts of the above.

Thorns, in front of more rose hips in the background.

Bright, shiny, red hip, with sepals and their shadows.

Asters.  Love all the activity in the middle, the dark bud above, and the curly petals at the bottom.

Love this grass's seed heads!  This one blurry, alas, but I love the red, the pale stripes.....

This one sharper, but I don't like it nearly as well as the above.

I'll have to go back by there again, soon.  These wobble in the least breeze, making it harder to get a sharp image.

Datura.
