May 5 -- farmers' market and Zingerman's

Admiring the garden on the corner of my old block.

I like the curvy iris stem.

Begonias at the farmers' market.

Radishes, spinach, onions.  Squash blossoms??  Yes, squash blossoms.  In the first week of May.

We strolled over to Zingerman's Next Door.  On the 5th we sat upstairs, by the front window.

Poor neglected Willard was at home.  This dog enjoyed accompanying the family.

Lemon cloud.  Very tasty.  I liked the texture of the granulated sugar on the outside.

Hmm.  You don't see this every day.....

We took home a Zingerman's baguette and loaf of their paesano bread.  With their cut ends on the cutting board, I thought the loaves looked like rock formations rising out of the ocean......
