The donkey-roping competition which was to occur in Van Horn, Texas, this weekend has been cancelled. Even better, the promoter has stated that he will never, ever, promote donkey-roping again.
For those of us who feel that the world is in a heap of trouble of all kinds, and that making things better is hugely difficult and too often unsuccessful, today is a day to celebrate the fact that a small number of concerned individuals CAN, from time to time, make things better.
Hallelujah.
