GO, KARA LYNN!!!!!!

.

UPDATE 7/3/12:  Here's an article about Kara Lynn (and other Olympians with Ann Arbor connections).

Yesterday I talked about Kara Lynn Joyce, who swam with my daughter's Ann Arbor Pioneer high school team.  Kara Lynn represented the USA in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, and, today, she earned a spot in the 50-meter freestyle in London!

We are excited, for her, and for us.  It adds a large amount of spice to watching the Olympics when you know someone who is competing!

Last week I told one of my yoga classmates about knowing people in the last two Olympics.  She remarked I'd had "skin in the game!"  I did not know that saying, and guessed that it was a sports reference.  Nope.  Google knows everything -- the reference is  financial.  It does mean (as you probably guessed) that you have a much more personal interest in outcomes...........

We are so happy for Kara Lynn (who always worked harder than anyone else, on top of her prodigious talent), and happy for us, to once again have skin in the game!

When you watch the London Games, you are now just one degree away from skin in the game yourself.

Go, Kara Lynn, GO!
