When the trash looks like this, you know it means trouble.
The hottest day of the year, and, adding insult to injury, no power...... The power went out at 1:25 pm on the 5th. We got ice; we put the milk products in a cooler; we ate up the ice cream. We spent the night of the 5th at home.
The prediction was for over 100 again, even hotter on the 6th, with a low the night between the 6th and the 7th of 77..........
We decided to decamp to the Red Roof.
9:18 pm on a VERY HOT evening. We were on the second floor. Wilbur declined to use the stairs, as they had no risers, only treads. He "only" weighs 30 pounds, but carrying him up and down could only add to my day....
Here's what the sky looked like, as we made one of our trips out into the H E A T.
Thank you, Red Roof, for sheltering dogs as well as humans from this nasty weather.
As my personal contribution to encouraging Red Roof to continue to welcome dogs, I picked up three piles my dog did not produce, in addition to the one he did.
