.

Butterfly weed, with bumble.  If you click on the pic to embiggen it, you can see how transparent those wings are....

Butterfly weed with honey bee.

These are not the same butterfly weeds, but you can see the habit of the plants in this shot.

This is the park my kid liked best when she was one and two.  Back then it had a tall wooden structure, with a big curvy slide down from the top.  She could climb to the top of that structure before she could walk.

Now the play equipment has been seriously dumbed down, and, I'm sure, is much safer.

I'm glad for my kid that she had parents who followed her up there, making sure she was safe (holding on to her overall straps!), so she could enjoy a structure that was an interesting challenge, rather than being stuck with something idiot-proof (and therefore more lawsuit-proof!).

Thinking about the deleterious effect on the gene pool of defying Mama Nature's plan that idiocy and neglectful parenting should cause certain individuals to be less likely perpetuate their lineage......................

Ok.

Walking on.......................

Bunny, pausing between nibbles of sidewalk weeds.  (Idiot bunnies do not survive to dumb down the rabbit gene pool................)

Closer crop.

With a bit of poster-edging.

Black-eyed Susan.

Asiatic lily.

A closer crop.  I cut this closer to show the ants (which I did not see when I took the pic).  Then I saw all the interesting fuzzy/sticky looking bits..........

Who knew.   Not I......
