June 30

.

Walking up to the farmers' market.

Daylilies.

This is the same lawn-extension garden we've admired before, on our way to the market.

Watermelon.

Watermelon flower.

Sour-cherry strudel at Zingerman's Next Door.

This is yummy.  I had it the previous week, too.

I'm not a big fan of powdered sugar on stuff, but it does render this more photogenic.  The tan of the strudel is about the same value (lightness/darkness) as the baked cherries.  White on top gives the photographer some helpful value contrast....

Walking back to the car.  The same sort of daylily as the first shot in this post.  Large, sturdy, and golden yellow.

Coneflowers.

Closer crop of the above, showcasing yellow stars.

One of the very last fluffy pink poppies for 2012.

Asiatic lily.

Later in the day.

Walking.

A very different daylily, of nearly the same yellow as the ones above.

Another daylily.

Burst balloon.

I've seen a lot of burst balloons.  My first corgi loved to pop balloons.  Sometimes we'd buy a package of the small ones, and blow a bunch up just so she could enjoy biting them until they broke.

I've never seen a dead balloon that had these beguiling curls............
