September 20

.

It got cold.  From way-too-hot, to too-cold, in the space of just a very few weeks.

We had a couple of weeks of perfect weather, and now it's cold.  And wet, off and on.

These are the times that try the souls of people who do not use clothes dryers.  It's too cold and wet to dry them outside, and, since we're holding off on turning on the furnace, it's not ideal for hanging clothes in the basement, either.

Out for a walk, between rain showers.  Looking straight up.

Autumn clematis.  It has a pleasant scent, but it's not as intoxicating as honeysuckle.

This the second time I've seen and heard of autumn clematis in as many days... how did I never know it existed? It's very pretty! :-)

It is pretty. :-) This one is growing on a low (3'? less?) fence. It's a twining vine. This one is a mature plant, and at this point it's very dense at the top, and covered with flowers.

The seeds are interesting, too, after the flowers are done.....
