Road reconstruction in my neighborhood. They've replaced a lot of curbs, and a lot of (perfectly good!) curb cuts. Why they insist on replacing perfectly good curb cuts with newer curb cuts, when there are corners with no curb cuts at all, I can't fathom. My tax dollars at work.................
I've seen many sets of these mysterious cylinders.
Even having read the label, I don't know what these are. Samples of concrete, which have to be submitted ... for inspection???
I've never seen these before, when there's been road reconstruction, but they've been at many corners this summer.
I was on my way downtown to meet my buddy, K., for lunch. We ate at an Indian buffet, and then went to visit a new fabric store. Pink Castle is near Zingerman's Bake House (which is next-door to where I took the cracker-making class). Pink Castle has a bunch of interesting fabric we'd never seen. Recommended.
Check-out at Pink Castle took place on an iPad, with a plugged-in card-swiper. I'd never seen that done, in person, before. Cool............... Receipts are electronic, either emailed to you, or texted (a good reason to have a short email address.....).
