Datura. I think these are the biggest flowers in the neighborhood, after that fuchsia hibiscus. The flower must be 6" or more, across.
This incipient flower is more than 8" long, I bet, from the curly yellowish top to the round green bottom.
Looking down at the unfurling petals.
I think this may be my favorite leaf so far this fall. So little, so vibrant..... Doesn't it look nice with the mechanical black & white?
Leaf, book, leash, dog.
Potentilla.
I think of leaves as two-dimensional, probably because their thickness isn't. Very.
But when you consider that the leaf stands up on its points, then it becomes entirely three-dimensional.
I love this pic. Love the leaf, love the 3-d view of the leaf, love the contrast between the bright natural shape of the leaf and the totally man-made black and white of the print on the pages... Love that the book is being 3-d, too -- foreground and background.....
A significant part of my life is represented here. The dog and I walk, for about half an hour, every day. Every. Single. Day.
I am almost at the end of Jane Jeffry, alas. I have read the Jane books the Ann Arbor library does not deign to purchase (thank goodness for inter-library loan!). I do not know what I will read next, moseying along with the dog..................
Today's leaf with yesterday's, which was still happy on the back stoop.
