September 19, part 2

.

Sidewalk art.

The golfer, who is used to measuring things in yards, paced it off, and said this drawing is more nearly 21 meters than 15.  But -- point taken -- Portuguese man o' war jellies are very big!

Another walk, another leaf.

Since my better half was playing golf all day on Sunday, we decided to go to the megamart on Thursday (since we both happened to be available).

On our way there, we took a detour so he could show me this excellent pumpkin field.  It was really cool -- they'd planted the seed in stripes, so there was a stripe of this kind, and a stripe of that kind....  I did not have the camera with the really good zoom, and it didn't occur to me to use video to get a broader view.  (I could have used that in the dog-food store parking lot, on Tuesday!)  So I couldn't get close, and I didn't get the really broad view, either.

This isn't a very good representation of what the pumpkin field looked like, but it may give you a hint of the different kinds of pumpkins, in stripes.....

It was cool to see all the pumpkins where they grew, and tantalizing not to be invited in to take closeups!

Burt and I don't usually go moseying twice in one day, but we did on the 17th.

The weed towering above him is lamb's quarters.  It must be nearly 7' tall.  I've never seen it this big before.

Nasturtium.

Now we are walking to yoga.

Autumn crocus (which isn't crocus at all, but the flowers are similar).

The sky over West Park.

Lantana, in front of the yoga school.

Walking home from yoga.  I am liking this level 2/3 class.  I am not the least-educated person in the class, yoga-wise, and I am finding I can make a reasonable stab at doing the things she asks us to do.  I do not miss the extra explanation of pretty much everything that is necessary in level 1.

Very shortly after I took this pic, I met a new-to-me corgi.  He was a 6-month-old Pembroke puppy.  A cute sable guy, who was very happy to talk to me, but distractable.
