January 15

.

The morning of the 15th was cold, with a dusting of dry snow.  I watched a car swish by, and I saw the resulting air currents swirl the snow into curls.

Cool!

I decided to walk at the megamart, not knowing what the sidewalks would be like.  Four loops, around the public area inside the store, make at least a mile.

It's amazing how much easier it is to walk on dry pavement than on snow (let alone slush or ice!).  I could cruise, not needing to worry about whether my next step would be treacherous, and not losing energy as my feet push the snow behind as I go forward!

And there's lot of color at the megamart.

Whoa.  I'm pretty sure I've seen this kind of fish before, and they've been sort of cream color..................  I wonder what they did to these?  I like color, but this just doesn't seem right.  Sort of like dyeing your poodle pink or green.  Only worse, because this color is not confined to hair!

This color seems ... healthier.

I don't suppose I'll ever see whole fennel without thinking of Italy.  We saw it everywhere.

I don't remember seeing hot peppers in the store when I was a kid.  Now they are everywhere (and with a choice of many different kinds).

I think these are natural colors.........  Well, hmm, looking at that purple carnation.  Not so natural, I guess...................

Maybe these are natural?  Though that pink in the corners is really PINK..............

Oh my.  I love color, but this made my teeth hurt.  I know there are chartreuse mums, but is anything else in this pic the color Mama Nature intended?  Goodness.
