January 8

.

This post updated 1/16/14.  I had pics in the other camera, yet again, which have been added....

Sunrise.  8:30.

Afternoon.

The houses on our street don't all have the same setback.  The two houses south of ours are set back farther than ours, or than the one three houses south.

This set of textures, from right to left, is the house next door (white, with black shutters), part of the snowy roof of the next house, and the chimney and some siding of the next house.

Blue.  Cold!  Looking southeast.

I don't usually take pics of him from this angle, but on the 8th, someone else was in the room who could hand me the camera.............

Looking west.

Looking southwest.

Walking.  Looking west.

I mentioned ridiculous amounts of snow plowed into the curb cuts........

!!!

Someone made art.  I bet this is food coloring and water, frozen in balloons.  Then the balloons were removed, leaving the colored ice..........

I can see why you wanted to post these -- definitely worth waiting for!

Thanks! I hope this sort of pic isn't getting too repetitive!

Pretty - and pretty late for a sunrise - you must be way up there latitudinally

Thanks, Kim, and thanks for the visit!

You caught me -- I take some liberty with the term "sunrise." :-) I mean "when I can first actually see the sun" rather than "when the sun crosses the horizon."

In my suburban neighborhood, it's light for a while (sun above horizon) before the sun is higher than the houses (sun actually visible).

So -- north, but not THAT far north. Ann Arbor, in southeast Michigan.

:-)
