You know I like to figure out a sensible way to do things. For years we've used a series of envelopes pulled from the recycle bag, with "clean" written on one side, and "dirty" written on the other, to let us know the state of the contents of the dishwasher.
Our old dog is losing his marbles. He has started eating the envelopes.
Here's my new plan.
Water-soluble marker on the door when the dishwasher contents are dirty. The dishwasher washes off the mark, so you know that if there's no mark, the dishes are clean.....
Note that it's a good idea to put the mark as far away from the sink as possible, so it's still visible until you're ready to close it up and wash..........
And, of course, it was snowing outside. It's pretty.............

That's a good one! We just lock it when it's clean and it's unlocked until they get washed. That works at my house, but I'm never sure at Rick's!
Do they get dry, in a closed dishwasher? Ours is usually open, so that the clean ones can get dry, and the dirty ones can most easily be added....
