Running the Saturday errands. Excellent ideas at the library, all on one smallish set of shelves:
Isn't this a funny idea? I would never have thought of this. But then I hate surprises.
I think this is a great idea, for people who like surprises. Maybe they find a new favorite author this way.
The library circulates all sorts of stuff that isn't books. Music tools of various sorts, for example. The cases containing the music tools have been marked with this excellent stencil.
Another music tool -- I have no idea what a monotron is...........
Right below the music tools, there are kids' book clubs to go. Another great idea!
So many things to love about the library!
Grocery store. Flowers. I've never seen mums like this before. Creepy. I forgive it for creepitude, because I am grateful for the color.
Later. Walking. Temps in the mid-20s (F), which means it's warm enough for the snow to melt, where there is salt and/or sunshine.
Wow, look at this. Grass. Haven't seen that in months. You can tell the grass has been covered by snow basically all winter, because it is still green. If it had been exposed to the cold very much, it would be brown.
Of course we're still seeing A LOT more snow and ice than grass. Walking is harder than when the pavement is dry. !!! Most of the sidewalk is fine -- packed snow is fine, and snow on top of textured ice is fine (that's what we see at the top).
Wet ice is very slippery. Caution required.
Proof that it's not just in front of my house that there's no place to put any more snow. Note how high the snow is, in relation to the car.......
Yet another pic of high snow.
Detail of the above.
Grateful to have the sun out all day.
Clean white snow is pretty.
Interesting sky, with dramatic tree bones.
