I can get up, leave the room, come back, and not wake him up at all. But point a camera at him, and he wakes right up. The camera does make some noise when it comes alive, but not as much as my feet on the squeaky floor boards........
On the 17th I went downtown to have lunch with one of my work buddies.
Here's some Pure Michigan for you............ Rotten roads. I've seen bigger potholes this year than I've ever seen before. I saw one yesterday that was over a foot deep and four or five feet long. Yikes.
Now here's something I've never seen before. This sidewalk is bare of snow or ice -- the white crystally-looking stuff is salt.......
I love all these different shoe-bottom textures...........
Lunch was good, and seeing my friend was even better. I walked both ways. The footing was the same as in the neighborhood -- mostly ok, treacherous in places.
I took advantage of being near the University's Parking Operations to get a new parking permit. Retirees are entitled to an "off hours" permit. After 3:00 PM, and on weekends, I can park nearly anywhere in University lots or structures. Except in lots near sports venues!
But if you want to go to a concert or a play or the art museum, rather than a football or basketball game, it's perfect. I got a permit shortly after I retired, two years ago, but unbeknownst to me, that permit died in the middle of last year.
(When I got it, they told me it was good for two years, but I didn't pay attention to when it began -- which was six months before I retired!)
My new permit is good for three years, and it started in the middle of last year......
I only used the old one once, but it's nice to have and it's free.......
