February 2

.

We saw a person in a red jacket with a black hat a few days ago.  This is someone else....

Another bit of red in a monochrome landscape.  Note he is shoveling................

Here's the sidewalk across the street.  You can judge how deep the snow is by the size of the footprints (which are adult feet, not tiny-little-kid feet)..........

Here's some of the snow we've moved off our driveway.  That's a 6' fence...............

If you look at the bottom of the above, you can see footprints of another sort.  Or ... I guess I should say "of other sorts."

The big X is a fox squirrel, pointed one way, and then another.  We see fox squirrel tracks all the time.  They are everywhere.

But who else was here???

I'm thinking these are teeny weeny mousie tracks.

Not until I got this on "the big screen" did I notice the mouse tracks in the middle of the squirrel tracks!  The squirrel was a monster, in comparison to that little mouse.

Here's part of my conclusion it was a mouse.  It went boing, boing, boing -- and left one line in the snow with its tail as it went along.  One skinny (not furry) line.....

I have a soft spot for mice, having had some pet mice when I was a kid.  But I want them to stay OUTSIDE and not come live in my nice warm dry house................

And now for something completely different -- something deep in side me NEEDS this, when everything outside looks everything we've seen so far in this post!

Hooray for grocery-store flowers!
