Ready to go golfing.
Those of us who don't golf go walking. I'm reading All Creatures Great and Small. I love his lyrical descriptions of Yorkshire, and love reading about helping the animals, and I like hearing about the nice people he gets to know. I'm not so fond of hearing about the annoying people........
Raspberry flowers.
If you look into the green heart of the flower you can imagine the individual bits a raspberry is made of.
One more, because I love the leaves in this one.
Elsewhere on the same property -- incipient raspberries. See what I mean about all the bits? And I bet those dark stringy things are the remains of the tops of the pistils.....
It looks like each bit is its own tiny fruit. Note also thorns....
Brand new maple leaves. Really really RED baby maple leaves.
Cosmos.
Not as clear as I wish, but you can get some idea what's going on in the center. So interesting, how many different shapes flowers take!
