August 13

.

Walking to yoga.

The baby ducks are now kid ducks.  We are looking straight down on the ducks (we are standing on the boardwalk over the pond).

Mama is still bigger, but the little ones are catching up fast.

One kid duck and a LOT of fish.

Walking home from yoga.  Looking west.

There are a lot of different plants whose flowers have brown centers and this size/shape of yellow petals.  These flowers are less flat than many -- the brown part stands up and the petals drape down.

The purple in the background is bee balm.

We've admired this hibiscus many times over the years.  It died back to the ground during last winter's extreme cold (down to 20 below zero, F).  I was afraid it was done form but here it is.  Hooray.

Excellent buds, enormous tropical flower, with large and interesting naughty bits.

Closer look at a bud.
