August 15

.

Another day, another walk, another leaf....

Tail up.  A good sign.

Phlox.

Closer crop of a very similar image to the above.

Looking down at the phlox.

This is a very not-flat leaf.  My attempts to show it from the side failed, alas.

A very white hydrangea.

Dahlia.  This isn't quite dinner-plate size, but it's very-big-salad-plate size.

Mise en scene -- a young oak tree in a green "please water me" bag, the dahlia (lower left) and some very tall grass.

Susan and Rose.

Susan and coneflower.

I'm trying out a new-to-me camera.  I don't know if it's me or the camera, but I'm disappointed with my attempts to capture the bumble on the coneflower.......

This looks like a decent macro shot.....  Maybe the problem above was me.......

I do not know what this is.  A boring pic, but you can see the habit of the plant.

This one is better for the color of the flowers than the above.  The bumbles love this....  It has an oniony look, don't you think?

Grass.  Not sure what's going on here.  Are these flowers, maybe?

Even with this close crop I can't tell what's going on............

Hosta.  This is the kind with the fruits we saw a few days ago......

I saw my first red, too. Brilliant, pure color red maple leaf. I wanted to cry.

I need orange said...

I'll tell you -- it doesn't take many days like yesterday (9-5-14) to make me long for cold weather! I do not do well in "93, feels like 100" weather.......
