October 23

.

Walking downtown to have lunch with my work buddies.

Snapdragons.

Oak.

Crossing Huron.  Much easier to do when three lanes are closed.  We are looking east.  There were clouds of steam billowing up around the machines that were working on the street.

Zoomed and more closely cropped.  Now you can see the steam.

Begonias and coleus outside Back Alley Gourmet.

Enjoyed lunch with my friends, as always.

On my way home -- this is the Detroit Edison building.  It has really nice plantings.  Arbor vitae, and some fancy sumac.

The DTE building also has a line of very nice zelkovas along Main Street.

Curves and points on the edges of the zelkova leaves.

Looking north on Main Street, with the DTE building at right, and its zelkovas at left.

I suspect this is an amelanchier, with pink hydrangea at right.

One last shot downtown.  This guy drove round and round, showing off his fancy old car.  I saw him multiple times, as I walked a few blocks.
