Looking out the front windows at the trees....

The window glass leaves something to be desired.  When just looking at the view, I don't notice the distortions in the glass, but when taking pics..........   Even when the pics are taken with the camera perpendicular to the glass, the distortion is noticeable.  When the line of sight is much more nearly parallel to the glass, the distortion is quite noticeable to the naked eye, let alone to the camera.  The image below shows vertical stripes of distortion.....

This next image is an attempt to show how the pic above was taken.  We are looking down from on high at me, looking through the window at trees.  The camera was much closer to parallel to the window than perpendicular to it.

The distortions in the window are so regular it seems to me they must be a result of the manufacturing process for the glass.........

Raja Rani, which has been one of our favorite downtown restaurants for 30 years, announced they were closing.  My better half was working from home on the 24th.  We decided to walk down and eat at Raja Rani one last time.

It was very crowded.  As we waited in the buffet line for clean plates to arrive, I took this shot of the decor.  Santa, with autumn leaves and various decorator items.

It was so crowded at Raja Rani that we offered to share a table.  We sat with a pair of women who, as it turned out, both live in the same neighborhood as the family of one of our daughter's best friends.  My former boss also lives there.  We had an enjoyable conversation over lunch.  Just to complete the "small world" aspect of the day, later that afternoon, while I was walking the dog, one of the women drove by.  She was in our neighborhood visiting a friend.....

Walking home after lunch.  A snippet from "Singing in the Rain," on the back of the above-ground entry to a below-ground parking structure.  It's clever how the artist has arranged things so that Gene's hand appears to be on the real street light.

Roses.

Hibiscus.

Amelanchier.

Maples.

A couple of years ago they planted a bunch of new little trees in our neighborhood.  The maples planted at that time have leaves that are less pointy than the rest of the maples.  More rounded....
