February 7 -- breakfast time

.

Walking up to Zingerman's Next Door for breakfast.  Lots of snow at the sides of the road.

Oh my.  This can't be good............

Aren't these pink-grapefruit tarts pretty?  And the Paris Brest pastries, too...........

But this was what I had on my mind.  I love pecans, so I love pecan pie.

I'm not sure I ever had *this* pecan pie before the 7th.  You can have a slice of a big pie, or you can have your own little pie.  Since I would much rather eat pecans than pie crust, I had a slice of a big pie.

Oh my.  If you love pecan pie, you have to try this some time.  You owe it to yourself.

Oh my.  This is *delicious*...............  The pecans are yummy, and whatever it is they do to the goo......  Oh my.

Mmmmmm, MMMMMMM, MMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!
Just looking at these pics is making my mouth water.  MMMM!!!!  Wow.  Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Ok.  Attempting to move on (rather than suiting up and running on over to Next Door for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.............).

Love the signage........  I don't think you can really tell from this image, but this is very 3-D -- the orange lettering, and the big letters below that are all cut out of wood, so they are distinctly raised.  Some of the leaves and flowers are also either raised or sunk below the surface.  Interesting dimension and textures, in addition to interesting info about tea........

Hooray for color, and hooray for interesting signage!

I love your snow pictures. It was vary warm in Los Angeles today. I posted some February 11th "summer" pictures to my blog, saltairandpistachios.com. We miss not having a change of seasons here.

Thanks!

While I know it's not snow-covered winter everywhere, it's hard to believe that there are flowers -- not to mention oranges and lemons! -- somewhere just a few hours on an airplane away!
