This pic is not very clear, alas.
What you are looking at is most of an apple, sitting on a tulip-tree branch about 8' off the ground.
It wasn't a small apple, either. Somebody hauled most of a large-ish apple up there, and left it.
We have some big fox squirrels around here. I'm betting it was one of them.....
Later in the day, it was gone (no longer up in the tree, and not on the ground under the tree).
Once upon a time, a long time ago, I saw a squirrel eating a doughnut. It looked like a person eating a good-sized inner tube...... Imagining the squirrel eating this apple would have looked similarly incongruous.

haha, yes our squirrels are very crafty too...
thanks for the visit, I'm exhausted from the hospital time...hoping I can bring Greg home tomorrow, back surgery.
Hospital time definitely exhausting!
Sending good thoughts that he can come home soonest, and that he mends quickly and smoothly!
Thanks for stopping by.
Bushy managed to open a locked in suet cage and haul off a whole square of suet. I was mad -- but fascinated!
I finally started putting a twistie on the suet cage. The latch was just too easy for the squirrels to open........
