April 14

.

On the 14th I had an eye check-up.  I'd been thinking that my (distance-only) glasses weren't doing me much good, but was surprised to learn that they actually are worse than my naked eyes.  I need new glasses........  Otherwise, all was fine.

(I find it harder and harder to go to see doctors.  I know that sooner or later they are going to say bad things to me.  Sigh.  But this time I not only heard that my eyes are fine, but the icing on the cake was that my blood pressure was fine, too.  Yay.)

The 14th was a very nice day.

As you see above, it was almost noon.  Since I was on campus, I called my work buddies to see if they wanted to meet for lunch.  They did, and we did.  Hooray!

I moseyed on over to Amer's.  Cherry, behind Hill Auditorium.

Pavement, in front of Hill Auditorium.

We were surprised to discover that Amer's has been cut in half.  We weren't thrilled to find the customary number of diners packed into half the space.  Too bad; I'm not sure when we'll go back.  Maybe after the students go home for the summer.  Maybe not.

Walking home.  Gold crocus, blue periwinkle, and, I bet, the orange is spent crocus.

More crocus.

Closeups of the above.   The red and green leaves are a tulip, and we can see its bud in the lower left corner.

I didn't see this gal's abdomen, to determine if she is a honey bee.  I hope so!  Our honey bees have suffered terribly from toxins in the environment in recent years.  We humans have got to learn to live with a few bugs and worms, rather than slathering poison all over everything........

Fishy, fishy, fishy.........  Mostly "gold", but a few black ones and you can see one white one, near the upper right corner.

I know exactly what you mean about going to the doc. And I think I'm in the same boat with glasses. I have a new script and was waiting till I got the quote on fixing the sump pump output before I got new ones. Well, tax refund is back... time to do it!

Yeah. And -- it sucks to not be able to see............ I do not look forward to the day when I need to wear glasses most of the time. I think I am getting closer and closer to that day!
