Hooray for grocery-store flowers!

.

"As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged.  And it is in such twilight that we all must be most aware of change in the air - however slight - lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness." -- William O. Douglas, Supreme Court judge

Hooray for grocery-store flowers, especially when there are no flowers outside.

And grocery-store dinos, too.  There are way more extremely cute birthday-cake candles than there were when I had a little kid.........

Back to flowers.  I had decided to get a Christmas cactus, but there were none.  Roses (?!), cyclamens, kalanchoes, no prob.  Poinsettias galore.  But Christmas cacti?  Not in this store.  Alas.

Loved this poinsettia, with some bracts peppermint red and white, and others red, white and green.....  But it was a really big plant.  I did end up buying a poinsettia, but it is small, and all they had in small ones was red.

More mums, and a carnation.
