Mourning dove egg in the robins' nest.
Mourning doves really do not seem to be the sharpest knives in the drawer. They do not seem to take nearly as good care of their babies as robins do. They leave the baby alone for long periods of time. I rarely saw them come to feed it, and they didn't come sit on it when the weather was cool and damp. They managed to fledge the one chick, but we fear it did not survive long. We saw baby-bird feathers in the back yard within a day after the little mourning dove left the nest.
Day lilies in front of my old house. I loved that house.........
Always glad to see a honey bee! Poppy.
Day lily.
Incoming. Another poppy.
A different day lily.
Butterfly weed.
Sometimes cameras just do NOT see what I see. This image is very blue. Butterfly weed plants are green, not blue. That ground cover was gray blue, I bet, but not as blue as this..................
Another image of the butterfly weed. This one's buds are beginning to open. I've made this more green in Photoshop Elements, but am pretty sure the original did not have purple on its buds......... So odd, when the camera (all of these pics are the phone camera) gets confused like this about color..................
Phlox.
Coneflower bud. Love the way those spikes spiral out from the center.........
Another coneflower bud.
Lily.
Portulaca.
Love the shadows in the lower left quadrant.........
Bouquet at the farmers' market.
Sunflower bud.
Sky over West Park (looking east).
Heliopsis.
Closer.
One more coneflower bud.
