When we have always had the path smoothed for us, it's hard to notice (let alone realize) that our path is smoother than for others............ It is so important for us to wake up and smell the privilege. And assimilate the understanding that privilege is real and ubiquitous, and to watch for instances where we take privilege for granted, and pinch them out like fingers putting out a candle, leaving the smoke that is truth sharp in our nostrils......

Spirea.
When I look at spirea flowers up close, I always think of teeny tiny (blessedly quiet) fireworks.
