Mike Siegel is running for Congress in Texas. Someone tried to suppress the vote in a historically black college in his district. Mike is a lawyer. He sent a field agent to the county court house in the college's county, to deliver a letter demanding that the students be allowed to vote.
A court official asked the field agent which party his candidate represented, and when he heard "Democrat," the field agent was arrested, and held, and his phone was confiscated! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:-(
The field agent was on the phone with Mike at the time. Mike organized a lawyer in the proper county to go and rescue the field agent. And she was able to get the phone back, too. GOOD GRIEF. Which country is this? Which decade are we in? ??!?!?!??!!!!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That night this whole unbelievable story was told on Rachel Maddow. I immediately dropped a few bucks on Mike's campaign, and hope thousands of others who heard the story did the same. !!!!!
When I saw Mike and Beto on PostcardsToVoters, you know I nabbed some addresses.
"To get a better government, elect better people to serve." YES. Amen. Good grief.
