a new trick

I learned a new trick from the Pioneer Woman.

Here's our original. Taken through a shop window. Hazy.





Make a copy of background as a new layer. Now here's the trick. Instead of "normal blend", go for "hard light".

Ooooh. Much better. Except for the cat.





Ok. Suppose we try the "shadows/highlights" adjustments in the "lighting" set of options. Let's not lighten the shadows, but let's darken the highlights.......

Yep, that's better.

Cool, eh? There are an awful lot of choices in the "blend modes" of layers. I wish I knew more about when I would want to use them.

I'm glad I know this trick now -- I'll have to go back to some of my hazy "taken from an airplane window" pics and see if this helps with that kind of haze........
