Happy New Year

.

Some people spend New Year's Eve at a partay. Crowds, noise, alcohol.....

We have our traditions, too.

A good movie. (If you haven't seen this yet, do. Very enjoyable.)

Something good to eat.

Hanging out at home, with family.

Our idea of a good way to see the old year out and the new one in.

Here's hoping for a much better New Year.

Wishing for all of us that our indulging ourselves (individually and severally!) can be done in small ways that do not impoverish us or the planet.

I was reading someone's blog (who was outside the USA) who said she felt that the emotional/financial/political climate in the USA had enormous effects on the whole world. Surely hoping we are now on a track that will be much better for all.

Happy New Year, every one.

Happy New Year!
We watched Wall-E, (cute cute cute) actually stayed awake until midnight, stayed outside a while to watch the fireworks and let the dog bark, kisssed a little, toasted with a shot of Grand Marnier, and toddled off to sleep.

Love that Pixar.
Ratatouille is Great!
I think Monsters, Inc. is my favorite.

Happy New Year to you, too!

We haven't seen Wall-E yet, but will. Loved Ratatouille (kid had seen it before, but not the 'rents). We like The Incredibles, too. Pixar excellent..... :-)

What, no fudge????

We could hear but not see (illegal!) fireworks. Last year all the carillons (we have three! in town) and the churches rang the bells at midnight. It was really cool. I couldn't hear them this year, and even went out to see if I could hear them outside, but, alas, no. I thought I read that they were going to do it, but either I'm confused or they changed their minds.

Like you, it wasn't certain we'd be awake till midnight, but we were. We marveled at all the people freezing their tushes off in Times Square, watched the ball drop, crashed and burned.

:-)
